We used wildflowers in mason jars set on cross-section of trees for the tables, but we didn't have a strict theme. We told people to wear whatever made them happy, and we designed the entire ceremony ourselves. The ceremony included a song sung by our friends, a song sung by the family, reading the Preface to Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, and the vows we wrote in English (bride's native language) and Spanish (groom's native language).
Karen and Mike helped us a lot and our wedding weekend was perfect!
Our friends and family are still talking about how much fun our wedding was and how fantastic Little Piney is, even though our wedding was last May! We had a Friday night firepit gathering with hotdogs, veggie dogs, bratwursts, and snack food, and Mike lent us these awesome hotdog sticks for the firepit. The next day people enjoyed the surroundings, and after the beautiful ceremony, we stuffed our faces with Angie's Trailside Catering and danced.
It's hard to pick! Probably our favorite part of the venue was that we could do everything outside, with beautiful and private surroundings. Mike and Karen were wonderful throughout the process. They have lots of thoughtful details, like a surround sound system, the little lights wrapping around the poles in the pavilion, and lanterns leading to the gazebo.

What was your wedding theme? Décor? Setting? We had a country rustic theme. It included mason jar mugs, burlap decorations, jute twine, etc. My accent color was a country red. The bridesmaids wore strapless red dresses with lace trim and brown belts with brown boots.
Flexibility of venue to meet your needs? The venue was perfect and we are still (after 7 months) getting feedback from our guests that it was one of the most enjoyable and fun weddings they have ever been to! The venue is very homey, and just very beautiful in it's natural environment. Being surrounded by the woods gives it an intimate touch where you really feel like you are in your own little world for a night/evening.
Have both your reception and ceremony there? If so, make for a happy couple & guests? We had our ceremony under the gazebo overlooking the lake. The landscape photograph of our ceremony with gazebo, white-washed benches for the guests seats, and lake background turned out to be one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen! It looked like a wedding right out of a magazine. The guests enjoyed the venue because it was one of those environments that all ages could appreciate.
Favorite part of the venue? My favorite part of the venue was really just being so close to nature. We didn't have to go into elaborate, fancy, or detailed decorating because the nature was beautiful enough! The pictures turned out amazing and the guests truly had a unique experience. The essence and spirit of me and my husband's love and friendship was truly captured in Little Piney Lodge.
