  • Happy Fall, gorgeous brides-to-be!  I hope everyone is getting cozy with the crisp weather and looking forward to their wedding day!
  •
  • Whether you’re planning a fall, winter or spring or summer wedding, the wedding makeup questions I answer this month will help you look and stay beautiful from the rehearsal dinner to the reception, to the honeymoon and beyond!
  •
  • Q.    I am loving the fresh dewy make-up trend going on right now!! How can I achieve that look?
  •
  • A. Follow these simple steps to get that beautiful fresh glow for any skin type! Making sure to start a skin care regime before your wedding day is essential, and I don’t mean the week before! You need to start at least two months before your I Do's to make sure your skin is in tip top shape!
  •
  • 1.  Start with a fresh clean face.  Cleanse skin with a quality product (such as Purity Made Simple Cleanser), and follow with a moisturizer (I love Hope in a Jar).  Both products, by Philosophy, are perfect for any skin type, and adding moisture to your skin is essential for the dewy look you desire. It simply will not work on dry skin, so DON'T skip the hydration step!
  • 2.  Next step is primer. Photo Finish by Smashbox or Face Magnet by POP Beauty are my top picks for killer primers that create a perfect canvas for your foundation.
  • 3.  Next apply a creamy foundation with a brush. Using a brush for application will ensure the foundation is applied in a thin, even manner. I like Lancome’s Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Make-up.
  • 4.  Top with cream blush on the apples of your checks and let set.
  •
  • And there you have it!  A gorgeous, dewy glow in just four simple steps!

  • Q.    I'm planning an outdoor wedding so I'm hoping and praying that mother nature is good to me.  But in the event of a windy wedding day, how do I keep my bridal veil in place (and from blowing in my face) so it doesn't get makeup or lipstick on it?
  •
  • A. Getting married outside is beautiful and daring! I did it, and you just never know what the weather will bring! But you're in luck because I have the perfect fix to ensure your lipstick stays on your lips (or your honeys!) and not on your gorgeous bridal veil!
  •
  • Simply spray your veil liberally with an extra firm aerosol hairspray.  This will make the veil a bit stiff, but not as stiff as say a spray starch would, and it will ensure it stays in place and does not fly away!!!

So add these tips and tricks to your expanding bridal beauty arsenal and you'll walk down the aisle feeling like the most gorgeous version of you.  Stay beautiful!!
