- Wedding officiant make you comfortable? Why or why not? Chaplain Mark and his wife Jeanie (who was along to help out) were both calm, cool and collected. They have great senses of humor, which certainly help during tense situations! Chap. Mark made us feel at ease prior to and during the ceremony. We didn't have a rehearsal, so he walked us through the entire ceremony prior to the start and really helped all of us to relax. Jeanie made sure we walked out at the right moments and kept us in line! They were fabulous.
- What did the officiant or clergy add that was unexpected? Mark and Jeanie met with us prior to the ceremony and talked to us about the type of wedding we wanted. Chap. Mark asked questions about us as a couple and used this information to make our ceremony more personal. Everyone in attendance appreciated a few comments made during the ceremony about our quirks, which we didn't expect but thoroughly enjoyed.
- How did you personalize your wedding ceremony? We aren't big on religious ceremonies, nor are did we want a unity candle or similar ceremony that didn't feel "us." Chaplain Mark worked with us on creating a ceremony that included things we liked (like readings by people close to us) and leaving out things that we didn't feel were necessary. He also provided many sample ceremonies from which to pull ideas and a HUGE pdf of readings, which proved to be a great resource.
- Favorite wedding ceremony comment from guests? Our guests LOVED the ceremony. They found it to be touching (without too much mush, we aren't much into mush), humorous and very "us."
