Brooke Courtney is the one with the camera attached to her face. She sees the world in Polaroids and tells its story in a series of stills and candids. Three years ago the Pennsylvania native picked up a camera for fun with her friends. Today Brooke's award winning work is capturing the eyes and hearts of clients across the northeast. The genesis of Brooke's passion for photography alights from her early endeavors in videography. A natural outcropping of the medium, photography has become her signature ... imagination her calling card. Brooke studied photography and videography at schools in Virginia and Pennsylvania. She holds an Associate degree in Visual Arts. Brooke's professionalism reflects the excellence of her mentors and the invaluable influence of her family—one steeped in the creative arts. Her goal is to provide clients with more than a dynamic final product. It is to capture the essence of life through the experiences of people. For Brooke, each person represents a unique creation, one deserving of a true telling. Perhaps it’s the dream to someday own a pet sloth, or maybe its her incessant desire to blink at the sun. - What was your favorite wedding photo? My groom and I were stading in front of a large store window at Central Market in Downtown Lancaster, kissing my new husband and Brooke captured the photo along with our reflection in the window!! Amazing
- How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? I don't know how she does it, I barely knew she was there, cutting the cake she caught my son on film almost getting and icing taste before we cut it!! Brooke was so creative and original with all aspects of action shots, pre-wedding, ceremony and reception pics. Catching moments that may have otherwise been forgotten over time were captured and I look back at the pictures and realize over and over again that because of Brooke, I will never foget those moments!!
- What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? Two photographers, 1 hour of photography prior to the wedding 4 hours of wedding photography and a digital CD of photographs in a CD case with our photo on the front.
- How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Brooke went with the flow of the day [which happened to be the hottest day Lancaster had seen up until that point]. Brooke allowed us to be ourselves and to be the "fun" people we are when photographing the bridal party/reception/guests etc. Prefessional at all times, she captured moments from a point of view that can only be described as art. She is such an amazing person, overall from a photographers stand point and on a personal level. Being around Brooke on our wedding day was like having a friend take our pics. She got to know us as people and because of that, our pictures came across that they were than just a snapshots to her!!

- What was your favorite wedding photo? It's hard to pick a favorite! We already can't decide which ones to frame - there are too many pictures that we love. Brooke's photographs were artistic and creative and so beautiful that we feel like celebrities.
- How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? When we got the photos back, several times I thought to myself, I had NO idea she was standing there. Brooke was excellent about sneaking around to catch the candid moments, but also great at reigning in the rambunctious relatives and friends to get beautiful posed portraits. She was able to convey her vision for the photographs with clear, easy to follow directions - which was excellent since we were all more than a little bit distracted!
- What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? Brooke and her husband took our photos that day. We personally did not choose to have an album or engagement photos, but we did have digital negatives and a DVD slideshow of the pictures. To us this was plenty, and we have loved being able to share the negatives with our friends and families. We were working with a small budget and Brooke accommodated us perfectly.
- How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Brooke and I have been friends for quite some time, but my family had never met her or her husband. They were thrilled with how easy-going she and TJ were - flexible and able to roll with the punches throughout the day.
