Sleek DIY wedding hairstyle: Get the look!

Posted by Azure on October 24th, 2011

This glamorous low ponytail accented with a sleek side part is the perfect modern take on a classic wedding look.  It can be twirled up into a romantic ballerina bun, or curled with a large barrel iron to add a touch of old Hollywood chic.  The best part?  It's simple enough to DIY!

Below, Frederic Fekkai hair genius Renato Campora breaks down the basic DIY steps:

Step 1- Apply Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing spray gel throughout the hair until the entire head is damp.

Step 2- Blow dry your hair using a large round brush, and once it’s mostly dry, straighten hair with a flat iron, separating into sections, while applying Frederic Fekkai Coiff Piecing and Forming Wax to add shine.

Step 3- Create a deep, exaggerated part on the right side of the head.  Depending on hair length and fullness, add the appropriate hair extensions.

Step 4- Pull the hair back into a low ponytail, secure with a hair band, and spray with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray for added hold.

Step 5- Take a small section of hair from the underside of the ponytail and wrap it around to conceal the band. To secure the look and lock in the straightness of the hair, blow dry the ponytail.
