Wedding Hair How To: High Textured Bun

Posted by Azure on January 23rd, 2012

This high textured bun puts a romantic, bohemian twist on a classic bridal look! It's perfect for long-haired brides and brides wearing extensions, and goes great with more traditional bridal veils (like chapel and cathedral styles). The slightly teased look adds character, and the all-up 'do lets a stunning wedding dress neckline, back, and a bride's blushingly beautiful face really shine through!

So today, Nicholas Penna, Jr. of SalonCapri shares his how to's on creating this chic wedding hairstyle:

1- Blow dry hair using a volumizing product (Nick likes Shu Uemura’s Ample Angora Volumizing Mousse).

2- Separate hair into one inch sections, and using a two inch barrel curling iron, curl strands to create a loose, yet full wave.  As you curl each section, spray a light hold hair spray to keep the texture in tact. Nick suggests L’Oreal Professional Texture Infinium Spray.

3- Gather hair at the crown of the head and secure into a high ponytail using an elastic.

4- Tease the ends of your ponytail with a fine-toothed comb, and work your way up, from the ends to the base of the elastic.

5- Twist the hair around the elastic.  Secure some pieces with bobby pins, while letting others go au natural. It doesn’t need to be a perfect round shape – let it breathe!

6- When you have all of the hair secured around in a bun, finish with another round of L’Oreal Professionnel Texture Infinium Spray for hold.
