Honeymoons don't always have to be like everyone else's. In fact, when they incorporate the history of a couple, it can be more meaningful as well as unique.
Jennifer Spencer and Mario Martinez, who were recently married, spent their honeymoon watching various movies at the Cleveland International Film Festival and cuddling up with a big bucket of popcorn.
"I can't think of anything more indulgent than sitting there in the middle of a weekday, with a huge buttered popcorn, just completely enjoying yourself," Spencer told the Plain Dealer. "That's what a honeymoon is about, a real escape. Seeing all these movies, it's like traveling the world."
It's also a lot cheaper than traveling the world and free of security checks and screaming children on the plane.
In fact, Spencer and Martinez found a way to begin their new life as husband and wife the same way they started dating. After meeting in Paraguay in 2005 when Spencer was in the peace corps, one of the couple's first dates was to the movies to see a translation of Brokeback Mountain.
Perhaps their love is a force of nature as well.
