Another wedding sponsorship sought on eBay

It's no secret that wedding planning can carry a hefty price tag these days - but the strategies some couples use to trim their budgets are stirring up debate.

In April, Kelly Gray and Karl Gau of Virginia caused a stir when they auctioned off the sponsorship of their wedding on eBay - and Dr Pepper made the highest bid.

Now, New Hampshire's WMUR 9-TV reports that another bride and groom are following in their footsteps by turning to the auction site's services for assistance.

Stacy Libby apparently posted the opportunity to bid on their nuptials without seeking her fiancé's approval first.

However, groom-to-be Jim MacNevin told the news provider he didn't mind being kept out of the loop, saying that "as long as she's happy, it doesn't matter."

As for Libby, she is slightly less easy-going about the details of her big day, saying that although the couple will permit a business to advertise, they can't have complete creative control. This is especially true for the wedding dress.

"I'm not willing for someone to say, 'Wear this dress made out of recycled bottles'," Libby said. "I'm not sure I want to go that far."

  • I spotted this auction at No Shame Auctions, http://noshameauctions.com/, a funny site that list strange auctions. What I can get over is that she placed the auction without asking her husband first. LOL!
