Jewish couples who are looking for a truly unusual setting to say their vows have a new option: a scuba wedding that takes place 20 feet underwater.

While couples have had scuba weddings in the past, this is the first time the experience is being marketed to Jewish couples who want to include traditions such as smashing a wrapped glass, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Pro Dive International, a Fort Lauderdale-based dive shop, is putting a slight twist on the ritual by inviting grooms to smash a lightbulb with their flippers, according to the newspaper.

Industry experts suggested the unique ceremony could appeal to couples who want to move beyond the usual conventions such as a white wedding dress and try something wacky.

"There's a new breed of people that want something unique," Jannette Alix of the National Association of Wedding Professionals told the Times.

Many couples who choose a scuba ceremony have also chosen a destination wedding in an exotic locale.

In southern Thailand, a place called Trang even offers the chance for people to tie the knot 10 meters under water every Valentine's Day as part of a group ceremony.
