Long after the excitement of wedding planning has abated, many couples opt to go on a second honeymoon to reignite their spark.

But can you imagine the government offering you and your husband a free vacation to patch up your marriage?

That's exactly what's happening in one Asian country, as a new Malaysian initiative aims to show married couples that the honeymoon is not over, even if their relationship seems to be on the rocks.

In the eastern state of Terengganu, husbands and wives are being offered free honeymoons worth up to $440 if they are considering divorce, Malaysian newspaper the Star reports.

In addition to the getaway, the couples will also get free marriage counseling. Welfare Community Development and Women Affairs committee chairman Ashaari Idris said the state had already run a successful pilot program involving 25 couples.

"With this package, we hope the couples will treasure their marital ties and avoid separations," Idris told the Star.

If this offer were introduced in the U.S., can't you just imagine all the couples who would claim to have marriage problems just to get a free vacation?
