Meryl Streep's daughter is wedding planning

Mamie Gummer, the daughter of acting legend Meryl Streep, may soon be asking her mom for advice on wedding dresses.

Gummer told Usmagazine.com that her beau Ben Walker - also an actor - popped the question this past weekend with a custom-made engagement ring.

"He did it on one knee," the actress told the website. "My mom loves him. We are very happy!"

According to People.com, the engagement ring has "an old-fashioned setting" that is slightly oversized - and Walker is keeping mum about where he got it made.

The couple met while they were working on a short film together and they also performed in a production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway.

"He was the Keanu to my Uma," Gummer told People, referencing two of the stars of the 1988 movie Dangerous Liaisons, who apparently began dating after appearing in the film.

Gummer is the second-oldest child of Streep and sculptor Don Gummer, who have four kids together.

The 26-year-old actress also recently played a role in another celebrity's wedding. Gummer was a bridesmaid when Claire Danes married Hugh Dancy last month.
