Many little girls dream of being a princess - and for some women, this desire is rekindled when they are shopping for wedding dresses.

Now, Disney is reaching out to those who want the fairy tale to begin before they even start wedding planning, by introducing a line of princess engagement rings.

The Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouwad collection has rings inspired by a slew of your favorite heroines, from classic Sleeping Beauty to contemporary Belle.

"Subtle references to the personalities of each princess can be seen throughout the collection," Disney says.

For instance, the company describes the Ariel ring as having clean lines that are "symbolic of an art deco influence and her bold individuality."

Meanwhile, Jasmine's ring "exudes the rich exotic patterns found in ancient mosaics and dazzles with a bohemian chic aesthetic."

And, of course, princess brides-to-be can complete their look by choosing from among the wedding dresses in the Kirstie Kelly for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings collection.

This season, a gown inspired by Disney's first African-American princess, Tiana, was unveiled.

  • I think Disney has gone a little far with making engagement rings based on characters. Of course the payoff on these is probably about 15 years out when the little girls grow up and have dreamed about these rings for years.

"Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years. That is what makes a marriage last"
