Stephen Moyer proposed to Anna Paquin on a white sandy beach

When it comes to picking out engagement rings and popping the question, True Blood star Stephen Moyer managed to get the romance just right.

The British actor told Glamour magazine that a song from the show prompted his choice of location.

"There's a song Bill listens to in the car about a white sandy beach," Moyer told the publication. "So we decided to go away for a break - to a white sandy beach - and that's where it happened."

Previously, the 39-year-old actor had revealed his strategy for surprising Paquin with a proposal while they were on vacation in Hawaii.

Moyer told E! News that he secretly asked the True Blood costume designer for Paquin's ring size and used that information when shopping for engagement rings.

In the Glamour interview, Moyer also said that he and his costar had successfully kept their relationship a secret at first, but then they felt obliged to confess when Paquin was set to do an "intimate scene" with a cast member.

"After 10 months, we had to tell [the cast member]," Moyer said. "He couldn't believe it!"
