Saying "boo" as well as "I do": Halloween weddings

Every Halloween brings a slew of creepy, dark, gothic and downright wacky wedding planning ideas from couples who want something different from their nuptials.

This year was no exception - for example, the Chicago Tribune reported on a zombie-style wedding that took place in Evansville, Illinois, on Halloween.

Kenna Sims and Steve Williams said their vows in an old funeral home that was converted to a haunted house.

All the perfect zombie wedding details were in place. Instead of a wedding dress, the bride opted for a black-and-white gown with a purple cape. The minster was dressed to appear headless. And the wedding cake was shaped like a brain.

They weren't the only ones getting into the spooky spirit. In Midland, Texas, Angelica and Cody Fisher sent out Freddy Krueger-themed invitations that said guests must wear a costume to be admitted, according to the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

With the bride's family dressed as characters from Twilight and the groom wearing a Dracula cape, the pair went all out to keep to the dark theme, except for one thing: the wedding dress.

Angelica told the newspaper her mom would "kill" her if she went shopping for black wedding dresses, so she kept it traditional.

  • Its funny that her mom drew the line at her having a white wedding dress.
