Most brides wouldn't be very happy to find out that their husbands found their wedding rings in a dump, but Bridget Pericolo was overjoyed.

The New York Daily Post reports that in a display of true love, Bridget's husband Angelo Pericolo sorted through ten pounds of garbage to find his wife's gold and diamond wedding rings after he accidentally tossed them into the trash.

Bridget had left the rings in a paper cup on their coffee table, and Angelo mistakenly threw it away.

Though the story has a happy ending, there were a few tense moments when the couple realized their mistake. "He said, 'Why did you put it there?'" Bridget told the paper. "He blamed me. I blamed him."

According to the news source, the couple, who live in New Jersey, have been married for 55 years. Angelo gave Bridget the rings as a present for their 30th wedding anniversary.

"Now I'm going to put them away in a safe place every night," said Bridget.
