Demure wedding dresses an option for brides

Modest wedding dresses complete with elegant sleeves or a higher neck line seem to be making a comeback. Fans of Ivanka Trump's beautiful Vera Wang gown, which featured sheer, elbow-length lace sleeves can attest to the allure of a more demure look. This recent trend is a step away from the strapless and formfitting dresses that have been gracing the runways (and the aisles) in recent seasons.

A long flowing skirt and billowy sleeves can be reminiscent of sixties style icons, or modern day fashion plates like Zooey Deschanel. Trump's vintage-style gown was based on the wedding dress that actress Grace Kelly wore when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956, People.com reports.

Tova Marc is one such designer who has specialized in more conservative gowns. "I designed a line of modest wedding dresses, modest mother of the bride dresses and modest evening gowns that are fashion-forward and trendy," she says. Tova creates custom-made wedding gowns based on her clients' specifications.

Of course, sophisticated modern dresses aren't going out of style any time soon. Jorge Manuel's Spring 2010 collection features gorgeous, strapless wedding gowns with corsets and fluted skirts.
