Many Americans are obsessed with their online social networking sites. In fact, some people seem downright addicted to updating friends and family as to their comings, goings and relevant song lyrics. But tweeting in your tuxedo? That's devotion.
Tonic.com reported this week that at one recent wedding, as soon as the couple was pronounced man and wife, groom Dana Hanna pulled out his phone, updated his Facebook status to married, tweeted about his nuptials and then handed the phone over to his new wife so that she could do the same. All of this was done while the couple was still standing at the altar.
Perhaps this is the start of a new wedding tradition? Though the immediacy of the updates seems a little extreme, at least Dana's new wife, Tracy, was alright with it. A glowering bride could ruin the wedding pictures.
Whatever your views on social media are, some couples who have begun to use Facebook and Twitter as tools in their
wedding planning. Facebook has several apps that allow brides to coordinate their wedding details with friends and family, share wedding pictures and get some
wedding advice.
