The Historical Chocolate Company, which makes delectable (and educational) wedding fare, recently offered brides-to-be some creative wedding planning tips, so that they can have the wedding of their dreams on a practical budget.
Wedding favors can take up more than their fair share of the wedding budget. The Historical Chocolate Company suggests brainstorming cute favors that will tie in with the wedding location, or picking gifts that are relevant to how you met as a couple.
Because the company estimates that favors typically cost between $2 and $8 a piece, they recommend keeping the guest list pared down, and, of course, considering chocolate!
"One couple that got married in Savannah used Lincoln Memorial chocolates for favors because thats where the groom proposed," Barbara
Post, the owner, said in a statement.
The company also suggests that busy brides could make the wedding favors themselves, or find creative ways to spruce-up simple favors.
If you are as frugal as possible with your favors but are still over your budget, cutting back a little bit on the wedding flowers is an easy way to save some money without sacrificing too much.
Making your own edible favors is a great way to cut costs too. Mom's famous cookie bars or your great aunt's lemon bars can be wrapped up simply and left at each table setting.
