Valentine's Day can be a bit of a sore-spot with the single set, but for those who are still holding on to the vestiges of an old relationship - such as wedding dresses, engagement rings or even their ex's favorite sweater - it's downright rough.

To benefit those in need, as well as brides-to-be who are planning a wedding on a budget, Goodwill is urging Americans to cull through their closets and donate all of their wedding-related materials, as well as the clothing of their former flames.

"Everyone's donation is someone else's treasure," Betsy McFeely of Seattle Goodwill told MyNorthwest.com. "So someone that's getting married or moving into a relationship can always purchase those items at Goodwill for very affordable prices."

Of course, the charitable organization will also take books, movies, and basically anything else that reminds you of an ex.

And we're betting that purging your space of reminders of an old love while also helping others is going to feel pretty good. So put on some angry girl music, open a bottle of wine and have at it!
