Hilary Duff's diamond engagement ring worth $1 million

Earlier in the week we reported that actress Hilary Duff was engaged to NHL player Mike Comrie. The happy couple, who has been together for two years, have not yet set a date for their wedding, but details about Duff's giant engagement ring have recently been released.

The hockey player, who reportedly has a $10-million three-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers, splurged and dropped $1 million on a diamond engagement ring for Duff. The sparkly bauble is approximately 4.5 carats.

We hope that the petite actress can handle carrying around such an impressive rock - though she didn't seem to have any problems sporting it poolside while the pair was vacationing in Hawaii last week.

The couple seems to be on a bit of a spending spree. In addition to the ring, they have been shopping for homes and are in the process of finalizing the purchase of a $10 million house in Beverly Hills.

We hope that they're saving some green for the wedding! With a ring like that, a designer wedding dress is a must.
