Nicole Richie excited for wedding planning

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden already have two little tots, a big ol' house and seem to be living the white-picket-fence dream. Still, Richie is getting pumped to begin her wedding planning.

The petite trendsetter, who recently taped an interview for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, admitted she's about to start flipping through bridal magazines and start making the most of her engaged status.

"I've been on the road. I just got home, and so it's really going to be now that's the time for me to sit down and think about what I want," she told DeGeneres.

Richie and Madden have been dating for what seems like eons. However, their engagement has come as a bit of a surprise since the pair are already parents to Harlow Winter Kate, 2, and Sparrow James Midnight, 6 months. Maybe they'll take their wedding planning as seriously as their celebrity baby-naming duties?

We supposed Madden did his homework when purchasing Richie's engagement ring. The blinding rock is a four-carat diamond that was handmade by chic jewelry designer Neil Lane, according to People.com

It's nice to see Richie so darn happy! The former The Simple Life reality star previously dated DJ AM (nee Adam Goldstein), who passed away from a drug overdose last year.
