Rev. Jill Dillner - NJ Handfastings
Congratulations and thank you for considering me as a potential officiant. We are going to have fun together! I am a Universalist Minister located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and I have been performing ceremonies for about 15 years. I perform single faith, interfaith and no-faith ceremonies. Your ceremony should reflect your relationship and your commitment to each other, as well as your beliefs. (Or lack there of!) I understand the effort that goes into planning a wedding. I provide all my information, including fees, upfront. You can see my availability calendar on my website, so you can check my availability. I believe the planning should offer as much excitement as the wedding! Your officiant should be fun, flexible and supportive. I work with my couples to create inspirational, spiritual and personalized ceremonies that reflect both their relationship and commitment to each other. I will listen to your ideas, assist you with suggestions, and help you navigate the planning process. I support my couples in creating a day that is truly personal, spiritual, and beautiful. You should be sure that your officiant has the desire, energy, and personality to to make your ceremony all you have hoped for and more. There are no rules for what has to be included, there are no standards to apply. Together we can create a ceremony that reflects you, your relationship and the commitment you are making toward each other. I specialize in unique venues and park/beach weddings. All situations are accepted and respected. Reasonable fees. Short Notice OK. Elopement option available....Find out more

- Wedding officiant make you comfortable? Why or why not? Rev. Jill was amazing! She makes you feel like you've known her forever. I don't know how she does it, she just makes you feel at ease.
- What did the officiant or clergy add that was unexpected? Included a surprise reading by my brother who is deployed overseas. He recorded his reading and sent it to Rev. Jill. She had the DJ play it on a flat screen during the ceremony. I will never be able to express how meaningful that was to me and everyone in my family. I still cry when I talk about it. My guests were so emotional and moved by her words and warmth. If you are looking to create a ceremony that is truly about you, this is the woman who can do it!
- How did you personalize your wedding ceremony? We wrote our own vows and included our family tartans from our Scottish heritage.
- Favorite wedding ceremony comment from guests? The guests were as moved by her words and warmth as they were by my brother's reading. The comments were non stop all night long. The thing I heard most was "how did she pull that off with your brother?" Everyone is in love with her:)

- Wedding officiant make you comfortable? Why or why not? My fiance and I are getting married next year. We decided to "elope" this year for personal and financial reasons. We wanted something that was just for us, that we could remember aside from all the crazy wedding planning. I called Rev. Jill and she understood why we wanted to do it this way, and told me that she gets this kind of request from couples all the time. She made it seem effortless, all we needed were our two witnesses and a marriage license. She did a simple ceremony that was personal and warm. It was exactly what we needed and wanted.
- How did you personalize your wedding ceremony? We did not do our rings for our elopement, so we did a handfasting. It really made the ceremony.
- Favorite wedding ceremony comment from guests? They just cried. I misted up a little.

- Wedding officiant make you comfortable? Why or why not? We felt like Rev. Jill was a friend we had known for years. She was so down to earth and fun. I didn't feel like I had to be on my best behavior all the time. She really let's you be you.
- What did the officiant or clergy add that was unexpected? A sense of humor. I knew she had a great sense of humor, but I was surprised at how she was able to inject funny little things into the ceremony that had relevance to us. It never seemed canned or forced.
- How did you personalize your wedding ceremony? We wrote our own vows and had a handfasting.
- Favorite wedding ceremony comment from guests? "I want her to do my funeral" We come from very dark humored people:) Everyone raved about Rev. Jill. I know a few of my extended family are intending on using her services.

- Wedding officiant make you comfortable? Why or why not? Rev. Jill was great to work with. She is very personable and made us feel very comfortable. We knew she was the one to perform our ceremony from the very first time we met.
- What did the officiant or clergy add that was unexpected? Do not worry if you have no idea how to plan your ceremony! Rev. Jill has so many great ideas that will please you. Just to mention a few, She told us about the wine unity, which we did not know about, and we really loved. She also recommended a simple way to make our mothers participants of our ceremony just by asking their blessings of our marriage. It was very significant! She also told us about putting a single long stem rose and some rose petals on 2 chairs in memory of our fathers that passed. That gesture in honor of their memories along with the words She recited, was very emotional!
- How did you personalize your wedding ceremony? We both love wine! And also, wine was given as souvenirs to our guests, so choosing the Wine Unity Ceremony, really represented our style.
- Favorite wedding ceremony comment from guests? We have some many guests coming to us to compliment on the ceremony. People said she performed such a beautiful and emotional ceremony! Some people even cried... One of the best comments which was actually given by many people was that She performed the best ceremony they ever seen...and we totally agreed! When we renew our vows we will definitely choose Rev. Jill!
