More brides are choosing unstructured looks, with undone wedding hairstyles
replacing formal classic updos. Check out three of the summer's hottest hair trends for brides
recommended by Jennifer McGann, Director of Cosmetology at the Tricoci University of Beauty Culture
1. Loose Waves
Working with waves and texture gives professional hair stylists the opportunity to create fun bridal styles that can be structured and relaxed! Waves are always fashionable and in season, especially for weddings. Don’t be afraid to pump up the volume, as it’s all the rage this season.
2. Undone, All Down
To achieve an undone look that has some structure and volume, start with a heavy blow dry lotion or gel. Use your fingers and blow dry the hair, making sure to “scrunch” near the mid-strands to create a rough effect. With a round brush, blow dry the crown using an over directed base control to add volume. Then, use a curling or flat iron to add defined waves for a more structured look. Finish the look with a pomade (for shine and hold), working the product through your hair from the ends to base. For a different look, pull finished waves back in a loose pony!
3. The Bridal Bob
The bob is STILL in but it's much more bride-friendly in 2011. This year's bob is longer and more feminine, a shoulder length cut with a straight or wavy style. Believe it or not, this longer bob is flattering on virtually every face shape and allows for multiple looks and styles. Straight or wavy – you’ll be stunning on your wedding day!
