5 Guests You DON’T Want at the Wedding

Don't say I didn't warn you! Below, we share five misbehaving wedding guest types who could turn your perfect day upside down...

The walking fashion faux pas guest: Twilight's Kristen Stewart recently showed up to a New Jersey wedding wearing jeans, a black tank and blazer. Dress down much? Oh, but it could be worse. Much worse. Because the walking fashion faux pas guest takes what NOT to wear to new lows. Sparkly mini skirts, flip flops sans pedicure, and extreme cleavage-baring dresses are all fair game. So provide clear attire guidelines when inviting these fashion inept guests.

The 'I can't control myself in the presence of an open bar' guest: Most of us have a friend or relative who's infamous for taking it to the face and getting extra boozy. Trouble seems to follow this person, and you never know what will happen next. So if you invite this guest, just know you've got a potential liability on your hands. A forewarning to the bartender might not be a bad idea!

The glass is always half empty guest: Whether you serve two buck chuck or Caymus, fried chicken or filet mignon and lobster, this guest will always have something negative to say about your big day. The centerpieces weren't grand enough... your dress was a tad too tight... 'the groom looked SO nervous, I thought he might not go through with it'! Blah blah blah. So, if you must invite this negative Nancy to your wedding, just remember to take everything she (or he) says with a big grain of salt.

The attention wh*re guest: We all know someone who loves the spotlight a little too much (see our Broadway Bride and her outrageous ceremony performance). And while their intentions may be good, the attention whore guest will surely do SOMETHING to steal your spotlight (whether it's talking other guests' ears off about her new job, new love, recent engagement or wedding, charging into the ceremony venue 30 minutes late, or busting out her well-choreographed tango/salsa/Foxtrot routine during your father/daughter dance). So think long and hard before extending the invite to this attention lover.

The 'I  say inappropriate things at inappropriate times' guest: Keep the mic away from this guy! Because if you give him the floor (especially when alcohol is involved), the words that spew from his mouth could be truly mortifying. So if you have friends or family with diarrhea of the mouth who happen to be on the must-invite list, remind them (gently) beforehand what appropriate wedding talk is (and is not).

What other polarizing personality types should be left off the guest list? Share them below, or join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter!
