Bridal Updo How To: Flirty, Modern French Twist

The classic french twist has been reinvented by Hollywood A-listers who walk the red carpet. An antiquated updo no more, the french twist can be sexy, flirty, and super stylish. Not to mention its low on fuss factor, which makes it an ideal wedding hairstyle! As DIY continues to save wedding planning couples tons of dough, a DIY wedding hairstyle is not a bad idea. Now, I'm not suggesting that the bride do the DIY'ing; you'll have plenty to worry about on your wedding day, and stressing about getting your locks in ship shop shape is the last thing you'll need. Instead, enlist the help of one of your bridesmaids or friends (particularly one who's hair always looks fab), and have her follow the simple steps below. Many thanks to The Beauty Girl for this fabulous modern french twist how to! 1. Mist volumizing spray onto damp hair and dry with a big round brush. 2. Set locks with small-to-medium sized hot rollers. Tip: If bobby pins tend to slip out of your hair, spray the roots with a dry shampoo; this will give hair the texture needed to hold bobby pins in place. Let hair set for 20 minutes. 3. Remove rollers, lightly tease your roots, and spray with a super light hair spray like Elnet. 4. Starting with the hair on the right side of your head, brush it back like you would to create a pony tail, but instead secure the hair by inserting a bobby pin vertically. Do the same with the hair on the left side of your head. Then, grab the hair at the front of your head, loosely brush it back and secure with a bobby pin. Finally, brush the hair at the back of the neck up and secure the pin in an upward direction. If there are remaining sections of hair at the sides, continue until all the hair is pinned at the back of the head. For brides with long locks, now is when you twist your hair into a bun and secure with hair pins. 5. Finish with a light hairspray and/or shine spray. Would you trust one of your besties with your wedding day 'do? Why or why not?
