About Bubbly Bride
Tradition says you wear black to funerals to mourn–I say wear black in weddings to be classy, fun and fabulous! Over half of the weddings I have been to in the past year have sported black bridesmaids dresses down the aisle. This may seem out of place for someone who holds to the traditional view of black, but it is one of the hottest trends in 2009. The classic “little black dress” complements every figure and can be worn to most any occasion. Black bridesmaid dresses allow you to keep a formal wedding feel and pick a color scheme that stands out! A great idea is let the girls pick out their own style, so they will truly wear it again. And by delegating the decision, it is one less “to-do” for you to worry about. Whether cocktail or floor length, black dresses will definitely add style to your wedding day.
I may have convinced you on using black for your bridesmaid dresses, but what if I took it a step further and suggested black table linens for your reception. You might say, “Won’t that make the room too dark and depressing?” I thought that at first, but after seeing it done, I couldn’t disagree more. The black is a subtle backdrop that will make the items on the table stand out more. Black adds a romantic feel, while centerpieces filled with candles and colorful floral arrangements will create an atmosphere that will leave you breathless.
There are so many other chic details you can add to your wedding with black. You just have to get creative! Black is this year’s pink, embrace it and make it your own. I look forward to seeing your pictures of how you incorporated this stylish color into your big day!
