About Bubbly Bride
The music is cued, the doors are dramatically opened and all of the wedding guests rise to attention. As the bride makes her grand entrance into the wedding ceremony everyone's eyes are on her... except mine. One of my favorite moments of a wedding is when the bride walks in and everyone is facing the door - I turn to look at the groom. If you have never done this before I suggest you glance behind you during your next wedding. Traditionally this is when the groom is seeing his bride for the first time and the emotion you are able to see in the groom's face during this one moment is priceless.
While many men will always be men... they don't cry... and they don't show emotion... I've found most men always have their poker face on. I call it their poker face because you can't always read the full emotion or thoughts on a man's face. As a woman I wear my heart on my sleeve, you can read every thought and emotion like an open book - my husband on the other hand will have a certain face where I have no idea what is going on in his head.
The reason I am drawn to this one moment is because grooms' poker faces, just for a second, are abandoned. For a moment I am able to read the happiness and sincerity on his face and it melts my heart! Every groom I have snuck a peek at has been overwhelmed with happiness and taken back by their bride's beauty.
The bride gets her moment to be the center of everyone's attention as she walks down the aisle. The groom on the other hand, gets a private moment while everyone is looking towards his bride to revel in the journey that has gotten him there and his excitement about what the day is all about. He can let down his guard and truly appreciate the woman who is walking towards him.
Have you ever looked backed at the groom and experienced a man letting go of his poker face, even if just for a moment?
