I’ll admit it; I like aromatherapy. I know it’s a little hokey, and a lot of products called “aromatherapy” just mean “nice smelling,” but I’m really fascinated by how different scents can influence our moods.
One of my favorite books on the subject is “The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy” by Valerie Ann Worwood.
I was just flipping through it last night and realized that creating a small vial of massage oil or a home spray could be a great idea for a DIY wedding favor.
This house spray recipe creates a romantic mood for a bedroom.
8 drops Palma rosa
1 drop Ylang-ylang
2 drops Clary-sage
2 drops Nutmeg
4 drops Lime
Mix it with distilled water and put it in a pretty bottle for a favor, with instructions for people to store it in a spray bottle at home.
If that sounds like too much work for you, consider checking out Sephora’s Bath and Body, Candles and Home pages for some ready-made great scents.
