Up until last night, I thought the craziness surrounding Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding was pretty hilarious and a bit endearing. It's funny how people have latched onto this topic. April 29th, 2011 (the royal wedding date) will never be the same.
It was all fun and games until I discovered all the wacky royal wedding memorabilia flying off the shelves in Britain, the U.S. and across the globe. Every tangible product you could dream of, from towels to teapots, is being branded with the royal couple's photo and wedding date.
I hit a breaking point after seeing the Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding cake. This 'homage' to the royal couple took 80 hours to create, and required 20 pounds of marzipan and 10 pounds of icing sugar. I can appreciate the artistry behind this creative cake, but... is anyone else creeped out by this royal wedding confection?
There were two additional breaking points before I decided to call it quits. First, the Will and Kate fingernail decals. Second, the Crown Jewelsroyal condoms. I mean, this is just crazy! And I don't think the Queen would approve!
