I was so dissapointed in this vendor. Our consultation was great, and the cake tasted so amazing. She was really easy to work with and I was sure she was going to deliver a fabulous cake. Unfortunately, she set up a cake that was falling over before she even left. Instead of fixing it, as my mother asked her to, she just left, and we were left to scramble all night as it continued to tip and my uncle continued to try to prop it back up. My coordinator even called her and left a message for her to please return to fix it, which she did not. When we went to cut the cake (which was very stressful, since it was about to fall over), there were plates on the top of the layers (under the frosting), and so we were not able to cut through them. I ended up eating a forkful of frosting, because that was all I could get. After the kitchen cut it up and brought me a piece, I realized that it tasted nothing like what the tasting had. The cake was dry and tasted very old, and the frosting was not the same at all. I was embarrassed to be serving it to my guests. We had sheet cakes from Sam's Club that we served instead, because they were much better tasting. The design was also very wrong. She even "forgot" my cake topper, and then just left when she realized instead of doing something to fix it. In short, I received a cake that did not look like we had agreed to, did not taste like what she supplied at the cake tasting, and could not stand up by itself without a lot of attention and some close calls throughout the night. I emailed Lanette about all of this after the wedding, and she denied any reponsibility, and even suggested that my brother must have bumped the cake, because he was a teenager. She refused to do anything to fix it, or even apologize. I would stay far far far away. I have also learned that she is not licensed at all. Please take my advice and find another baker.
Staying healthy post-wedding? Why or why not?
It was lucky we had the Sam's Club cake, because I didn't hear anything good about the cake this woman made.
