Thank you for taking the time to evaluate Tom Smith Photography for your upcoming wedding. We are a family owned business that takes pride in our artistic abilities and personal approach. Photography is our passion, it is not just what we do.
We approach every wedding we photograph as if it were our own and work to exceed the expectations we would have for our own photographs. Our goal is to capture real emotions and events without intrusion.
What was your favorite wedding photo?
Too many to name, but the common theme of them all is that none of them are staged. Tom just managed to capture the moments during the day that really tell the story: Jerry and I at the bar (we didn't even know this picture had been taken of us until we were proofing our images), me laughing as we danced, one of our guests completely airborn as he danced.
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
He just blended in. All of my guests commented on how polite he was and how even though he was there all night, they never felt like they needed to be concious of where he was. The action and candids are amazing--but the posed pics are really good too. Also, there was one guest at the wedding that i was not expecting--and really didn't want there. Tom noticed. Somehow, even though this person was there all night, he/she is only in a handful of picures. THAT is priceless.
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
We went with the sliver package, so we got one large album and instead of taking the parent albums (which were included) we opted to purchase a DVD of all our pictures. I scrapbook, so I'll make albums for our family. Our album is digital, the kind where the images are the page, not slid into pockets. Also, our front and back cover are also an image from the day, which is a really nice touch. An engagement picture session was included, and Tom also brought an assistant. This is by far the most bang for your buck photographer in the DE/PA/NJ/MD/VA area.
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
I can't quite put my finger on it--but that's how its supposed to work with people you like, right? He's very easygoing, if I had to pick a word.
