A pet peeve of ours are mass produced cakes. To combat that, everything we sell is baked to order to prevent our products from sitting around getting stale while we wait to sell them. We bake from scratch and use only the best ingredients we can source: real butter, heavy cream and fresh fruit. We never use mixes and we never freeze our products.
We also had no intention of offering the same old buttercream frosted cakes that every other bakery makes. Buttercream frosting leaves a greasy, gritty film in your mouth that no one likes. Our crowning glory is our signature Sweet Cream Icing - light, fluffy and unbelievably addictive. There is nothing like it in Chicago - trust us, we've looked!
Another pet peeve of ours was the use of fondant on almost every high end wedding cake. We absolutely, positively will not ever make you a cake that has any fondant on it! Instead, we decided to use our skill to frost your cake perfectly smooth with our delicious Sweet Cream Icing.
What is Sweet Cream Icing? In our opinion it's quite possibly the best icing you'll ever taste. It's wonderfully delicate with a light creamy texture and just the perfect amount of sweetness. Sweet Cream Icing is the perfect complement to cakes and pastries. And, after eating it your mouth won't be coated in a layer of grease that will make you wish you brought your toothbrush!
