I am passionate about capturing the uniqueness of off-beat, indie or otherwise non-traditional weddings. By shooting only a handful of clients each year I am able to dedicate my time and efforts towards a client-vendor collaboration that makes your day truly special and unique. I believe that wed
What was your favorite wedding photo?
My favorite photo is of my husband and I during the last dance of the night. The focus is on us in a sea of our family and friends. Our foreheads are touching, our eyes are closed, our arms are around each other. My hair is coming down from its beautiful updo, and my husband's shirt is unbuttoned. We are exhausted, and transformed, and totally completely focused on one another. The photograph is beautiful, and raw, and captures exactly how I was feeling in that moment. My eyes tear up every time I look at it.
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
Kate was everywhere, and captured everything, and most of the time I was never even aware of her presence. Both my husband and I can be uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Kate captured honest, intimate moments without ever being intrusive or making us feel self-conscious. Even during portrait shots, she kept us at ease, and got some wonderful, natural shots of us--even of my husband's real smile, and not his "fake" camera smile!
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
We got a full 8 hour package and an engagement session.
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
Kate made me feel comfortable by being natural. She talked and joked when it was appropriate, fell back and quietly did her thing when it was needed. She easily read the mood on her subjects (us!) and was really wonderful about giving us space while also making us feel comfortable and documenting one of the most momentous days of our lives. She was a consummate professional and a sassy girlfriend all in one.
