After shooting weddings for family and friends over the years, I finally realize I don't have to make those awful, cliche pictures that most people expected from a wedding photographer to make the couple happy. I can spend the whole day really getting in close with a couple, becoming part of the family if only for a few days and make unique story telling pictures that I love almost as much as my clients.
I've started Nuevo Weddings to offer the finest documentary photography service WE can. (Yes we - we're changing tense - we work with some great photographers and are on the lookout for skilled 2nd photographers & eager to learn paid-assistants)
We work hard on your wedding day to create one-of-a-kind documentary stories in the finest traditions of classic photojournalism. We tone all the photos to match our vision, sometimes color, others b&w. We make you lots of prints through our custom color lab with every package, and we always include the full-resolution digital files in case you want to print them yourself. We take the best photos and new technology to create custom designed coffee table books that we believe will be priceless family heirlooms.
What was your favorite wedding photo?
There were a lot of candid photos that captured the day and told a story of the events better than I would have been able to remember myself!!
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
The photographer did a great job blending in. I don't think many people realized he was taking their picture...which made for some really great shots!
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
He was very accommodating and adaptable. He took all the shots we requested, but also added a lot of candid shots that told a story of the day. The candid shots really ended up being my favorite, but the posed shots turned out great as well!!
