Artistic wedding photography for Western New York.
What was your favorite wedding photo?
Any photo she captured of the kids at our wedding is an incredible photo. She did such a brilliant job capturing the moments our little cousins and friend's kids were creating with each other at the wedding. She was even able to wrangle a large group of kids together to take an incredible shot of them in the mustaches and Marx Brothers glasses we provided, which was a feat in itself!
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
Dominique is the consummate professional. She didn't push anyone to try to create artificial moments, and instead stood in the background and quietly observed and shot hundreds of candids throughout the day just like we wanted, capturing all of the real moments.
And the few formal, posed pictures we took she had all planned out in advance before she grabbed us for the photo shoot. She always had a location and vision for each photo, so it went so fast! She's frankly BRILLIANT at wedding photography, and even my guests were commenting on what a great job she was doing working with everyone, especially the kids! Having her own children and being a teacher certainly help her natural ability to capture kids, which is a difficult thing to do when they are in fast-motion and often overwhelmed by the giant party around them at a wedding.
She just seemed to be right where she needed to be every second of the day. If we ever needed to find her, we would just turn around and she was right there and most likely already on the same wavelength as us about what picture to take next! It was like she was reading my mind!
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
We got engagement photos, which were amazing, and fully edited digital copies of all of those, plus a handy full-color proof book of those.
We got Dominique the entire day until the party ended at 11, and she was there for every moment. Since it was a smaller, mostly family wedding, she was even able to oblige our request to take a group family portrait of each family that was there as they entered to reception, which she worked so hard at to get every family!
Then we got all of the digital files for the photos, and another, full-color proof book of those photos, all edited to give them that unique vintage look that fit our wedding at a turn of the century artists' community-turned-inn. We could additionally order an album if we wanted, but that was not included in the package of course.
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
She stayed very relaxed while maintaining focus and professionalism, so it was never a struggle to be arranged in formal photos for anyone. She prepared well for every photo of the wedding party, so that it was never like everyone standing around waiting for the photographer to think up what to do and where to shoot next, which I've experienced at other weddings.
She blended right into our close family and friends group with her smile and great personality, and everyone found her a joy to work with.
She was by far the most commented on vendor of the night, and that's really saying something because our food and venue were fabulous too! But everyone wanted to know about Dominique and how we found such a great woman in Buffalo, and can they hire her for their daughter's wedding next summer!
