Black Rock Photography is a photographic collective of accomplished wedding photojournalists covering NYC, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut. John, Jesse, Ross, and Veronica approach each wedding with a traditional and photojournalistic style of shooting, producing both a modern and memorable final product.
What was your favorite wedding photo?
It's us sitting in a limousine outside the Boston Public Library. John set up a flash to be triggered inside the limousine as he shot from outside. The photo looks like something out of Moulin Rouge. It's featured in his slideshow on this site.
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
Apart from the creative portraiture, John used a photojournalistic approach and we didn't even know he was there. He really captured the day without being disruptive.
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
Two photographers, three albums, DVDs, Engagement pics....basically Collection 3 on his website.
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
John was very sociable and made us feel comfortable from our very first meeting. He listened to all our photographic needs and worked very well despite our huge wedding. We also had a Sikh ceremony, and John was very prepared and captured the day perfectly.
