What was your favorite wedding photo?
There are so many to choose from! The top picks would be the shots he got of us outside the Museum. We didn't even know he was there but the coloring was beautiful and they came out gorgeous. I also liked the shot he got of me next to the wax man, and the studio shots we did for the contest. (the one featured and we did one with the same lighting of me tossing the bouqet)
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?
Tom and his crew were amazing! There were 3 people and each had his own uniqe style, this gave us so many options with each step of the day to choose from.
The portraits came out wonderful! He made sure to get the shots we had requested first and then allowed our parents and bridal party to get the shots they wanted as well. The whole process only took about an hour and we were able to relax and visit throughout the pictures. He was very patient with the kids and took as much time as needed to get the perfect shot for us.
The actions shots were fantastic! He was able to capture every second of the bouqet and garder tosses. It was so funny to see afterwards! The shots of my dances with Eric, my Dad and my step Dad were also amazing. He really captured the emotions in each one which was so cool to see afterwards.
The candids take the cake however. He was able to capture our guests the way we see them everyday, comfortable and relaxed. You never find that with wedding pictures because people freeze in front of the camera and wind up taking bad pictures. We barley saw him throughout the reception but they were apparently there every step of the way! Most of the pictures that were taken were candid, some that was obvious, others actually looked like we were posing. He made sure he got pictures of every guest there and every moment that took place. We didn't feel like we missed anything that night and our guests didn't even realize we had a photographer there that night until the Thank You cards went out with the web address.
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?
Engagement shots, wedding ceremony and reception, the day after brunch, discs with all the pictures on it, and a gorgeous 84 page story style leatherbound, coffee table album. (He also printed out an engagement test shot of just me for my parents as a gift)
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
We did not want traditional shots and ran into problems meeting with other photographers. We kept walking away feeling like that they had no intention of listening to what we wanted, that they knew better than us. Tom did exactly what we wanted and made us feel like our wants were all that mattered. He blended right in with the guests and everyone loved him. He made our families comfortable and they became insistant at the brunch to stay after and visit, eat and enjoy themselves for a while. They were professional, out of the way, and took time to speak with our parents and make them feel it was as much their day as it was ours. I would recomend him highly to anyone that wants to truly enjoy their wedding day without feeling like they wasted too much time posing for pictures, or just didn't get to be everywhere at once. The day goes by fast enough and it's important to enjoy yourself. When it's all said and done the photos are what you have to look back on and he made our album unique and beautiful. Thanks so much Tom!
