I am located in Oregon but regularly travel around the country to document local and destination weddings.
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?
BEWARE when dealing with Craig Volpe and 2ndSun photography. When dealing in a service industry, he has POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was always proactive in contacting Craig, even when the wedding date approached. He was mostly difficult to contact by his 1-800 number or email, but once I received his personal cell, it was much easier. Most everything went well the day of the wedding, but it was after when problems arose and it took a FULL 6 months after my wedding to receive them. Per our contract, and his admission, they really should be in my hands by 90 days. This was not the case. And to make matters worse, after the deadline, he would not return my emails, calls, messages, FB messages, or texts. My husband sent him messages as well. We even sent a certified letter that was never signed for or picked up. Finally, after contacting HIS MOTHER and asking about his well-being, he returned my call and made excuses for life events that prevented him from working. To be professional, I deserved at least an email or personal call. It didn't matter. He was in breach of contract and I wanted my photos. We weren't able to give our family their Christmas gifts because they weren't done. This was very disappointing and upsetting.
This photographer has no excuse for conducting business the way he did because of his experience of 10 YEARS! It should be understood with that kind of record behind him. And on top of everything, he didn't even get a kiss at my ceremony! I know I can't guarantee to have EVERY shot I want for my wedding but with how many weddings under Craig's belt, would he KNOW that "the kiss" is kind of an important shot to get?! Needless to say, the overall experience was dissatisfactory and we will still be considering legal action for our needless hassle and difficulty that we endured.
