Mark and Stephanie's vintage-inspired ceremony and reception took place at the Historic Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas, a short distance from the iconic Fremont Street. The venue had particular significance for the bride, because her mother attended school there when she was a child! The courtyard of the school was lined with twinkling bistro lights, while vintage, shabby-chic furniture was placed around the entire courtyard to lend a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Stephanie is an amazing designer, so she designed the party favors (which were vintage decks of cards, Vegas style) and the wedding program, which she used letters from famous vintage hotel signs to tie in the vintage flair. The couple chose a very unique and personalized Quaker-style ceremony, which involves the exchanging of vows, followed by friends and family sharing stories, support, and love to the couple in lieu of a traditional officiant. Mark's friend Tim oversaw the ceremony, and he did an amazing job sharing funny stories about Mark and Stephanie and ultimately bringing the ceremony to a touching moment when Mark saluted his father, who had passed away, by inviting everyone present to take a shot of Crown Royal (or Coke) which was his father's favorite drink. It ended up being an incredibly intimate event with much more meaning than if they'd had a traditional style ceremony. The night felt more like a gathering of close friends, than a formal wedding, which is exactly what Mark and Stephanie were going for.
